Split Cane Bamboo Fly Rods, Specializing in, Restoration & Repair of vintage tackle
A hobbyist personified, I create miniature fly gift sets for the fly person that does not have everything. Specializing in restorations, repairs, and upgrading older bamboo rods to use todays modern lines and reels. I never saw a cane rod I didn't like, never had one that couldn't be fixed, upgraded to modern standards or couldn't be made to fish. For 47 years I have been reconstructing creative split cane fly rods, making nets, shadow boxes, wall displays. I really enjoy the challenges of refinishing vintage rods and can strip, refinish, with new wraps, new guides, some rods only need a minor repair done or a guide replaced. Many older cane rods in bad shape need complete upgrades from stripped blanks with new seat, cork grip, check, guides, tip tops, ferrules, yes even new bags & tubes, (no epoxies), only the best varnish. Success is defined as going from failure to failure with no loss of Enthusiasm!
